Rules & Regulations

The Sri Lanka Lions Sports Club NSW Rules (herein after referred as the ‘Club Rules’) have been defined as part of its Constitution and where an offered sport by the Club is represented by such Registered Players of the Club. The Club Rules have been set by the Club Committee and will be reviewed as appropriate for updates where and when needed.

Registration

  1. Club Registration is open to all individuals interested in representing a sport offered by the Club.
  2. Registration for participation in a sport offered by the club will be on an annual basis.
  3. All individuals willing to represent the club in a sport offered by the club must be registered and fully paid before participating in the game. An individual’s registration is deemed to be of;
  4. Team Captain, Vice Captain and Team Coordinator shall be appointed at the Annual General Meeting.
  5. A full list of Registered Players pertaining to each Team shall be provided to the respective Team Captains/Vice Captains and Team Coordinator prior to the seasons’ first game in selecting the team.
  6. No registration fee shall be refunded should a player having represented the Club, at least, in one game. All refunds, if any, is at the sole discretion of the Club Committee.
  7. No unregistered person can participate in a sport offered by the club, where it is the responsibility of the team captains to select a team from the list of registered players. Ref. point 5 above.

Team Structure, Selection and Communication

  1. Team selection will be managed by the appointed team Captain and Vice Captain and must be selected from the registered playing squad.
  2. Once a team has been selected, the Team Coordinator shall communicate the selected team to the Playing squad via eMail, mobile (call/text) or of an accepted communication channel decided by the team.
  3. In the event a selected player becomes unavailable at short notice, the captain shall seek a replacement player from the clubs’ other teams as first priority.
  4. It is the responsibility of the captain to ensure all team players participating in a game on the day are fully registered and fully paid-up individuals – refer Section A – Point 5.

Player Kit and Club Sponsorship Obligation

  1. All players representing the Club shall be provided with playing clothing (player Top/Cap) as part of the players registration.
  2. All players must wear the provided Club Player Tops and Caps at every game when representing the Club.
  3. Lost or damaged of provided playing tops and/or caps will need to be purchased from the Club (at a nominal cost).
  4. Sponsorship Banners shall be handed out to each team Captains. It is the responsibility of the captain to care take of it throughout the season.
  5. Sponsorship Banners for all home games must be displayed. This shall be the responsibility of the captain in displaying and packing it up on the day (prior/post games).

Issues and Conflict Resolution

  1. All issues will be managed in a manner where a fare outcome is to be achieved for all Club registered players.
  2. Any team issues are primarily to be addressed at a team level by the Captain and Vice Captain. Should there be no amicable solution reached, the Club Committee – President and Secretary shall be engaged in addressing it further to achieve an outcome.
